I gained weight after going on a pump too, about 10 lbs. Here's the thing: pumpers are basically sold on the concept that we can eat as much carb as we want as long as we bolus correctly. However, insulin causes the body to store fat, therefore the more we use, the more resistant we are to weight loss. You need to embrace the "safe-carb" way of eating. I fought it for years ("But I'm on a pump, I can eat what I want") but since I started this a couple of years ago, I dropped 10 lbs. and have kept it off. Keep your carbs at no more than 30-35g/meal, less than 100g/day. Even without exercising, you will see a weight loss of 1-2 lbs./week. Also work to stabilize your BG's as much as possible, doing fasting tests if necessary to make sure your basals and ratios are set right. This will avoid you having to give yourself big doses of insulin to correct highs, or having to eat carbs if you go low. If that still doesn't work after a couple of weeks, get your thyroid checked...thyroid issues are more common in Type 1 women.
