As a diabetic, I see no reason why we should be given any special considerations for anything other than foods. Besides having an problem with sugar, she's just like any other kid. I would avoid any food ideas completely as sugar free treats have their own set of problems (gas, diarrhea, etc). Stick to non food gifts, and she will be quite happy with them.
