Anything between 4.4 and 6.1 is fine. Here are a couple of links that you might find helpful:

If you have a family history of diabetes, you might want to adopt a low fat, low (refined) carb diet and stay physically active as a preventive measure, but 4.8 would seem to indicate that all systems are working fine, for now.
