Is pitting Edema a well known symtom of Diabetes?
---------------------------------------------------
Let's cut to the chase and stop the sugar coating. You have congestive heart failure AND diabetes.
What you listed are classic signs that any first year intern would recognize;
1.pitting edema for months : heart failure is allowing fluids to be backed up, even with the excessive urination caused by your diabetes, it's STILL not enough to get rid of your fluid overload.
2. Can't get enough to drink : what is called polydypsia, or unusual thirst, because of the excess sugar in your system; is a classic sign of diabetes.
3.Going potty all the time i counted 30 times in 1 day : what is called polyuria, or grossly increased urinary frequency because the sugar in your blood is osmotically pulling more fluid into your urine; hence your bladder fills more quickly and you need to go more often. Despite this artificial diuretic (it's acting just like a water pill) activity, you still have retained fluids to the point of edema.
4. Tired all the time : Fatigue, is a non specific sign, but it fits all of the above.
You really, really need to see a doctor and get a full work up, and I apologize for being blunt. But I feel that being honest with a patient, no matter how unpleasant, is more helpful to the patient in the long run and in health care in general.
Good luck, and I wish you well.
