Why not buy a few books and become your own dietitian/diabetic care person? It's not hard... just takes an hour or two of reading a day. In a couple of months, you'll know more about nutrition for diabetics than any professional does. By diligently following a healthy diet and exercise routine as outlined in a couple of books I have, I've managed to get off my medication completely. I'm now a drug free type two diabetic.... and loving it. There's a couple of books I strongly recommend by these two authors:
